How To Style A Curvy Juicy Body

December 26, 2020

If you don’t know yet which clothing flatters your body and smooth your curves, then you should look at this. The key is whatever you choose, to feel comfortable and confident, maybe it seems cliché but it’s so true! Especially when it comes to plus size, the fat distribution varies a lot. Trying to match up with dos and don’t and still feeling odd, kind of crushes the confidence even further. So, for every woman out there curvy or not, there are the right clothes that make her feel unique and herself!

1- Define your waist

This step is a game-changer for curvy women and creates an illusion of a perfect hourglass figure. Opt for high-waisted bottoms, mostly made of structured fabrics(cotton-elastane mix), tuck loose fitted shirts into pants/or skirts and add a thin belt. Also, belting a shift oversized looking dress will completely change the silhouette, as the eye goes towards the waist.

2- Shapewear

Choose clothes that are your correct size and fit you properly. Contrary to popular belief, wearing clothes that are too big or too tight for your frame, doesn’t always make you look slimmer. So, bulky oversized pieces make you look bigger and aren’t flattering at all. The right shapewear smoothes your body and makes it look super polished and nice.

3- Right undergarments

The most important part to create a perfect silhouette is to choose the right undergarments. For example, tight bras draw attention to back fat and tight panties can cause rolls, muffin tops and cellulite can also show through tight clothes. Invest in good quality underwear that highlights your curves and hides the imperfections of your body. If you’ve never been professionally fitted for a bra, you may want to consider it.

4- Shoes

Shoes for plus-size women can be tricky, especially when you are not willing to sacrifice style for comfort. Avoid round toe shoes as they make your legs look short and stumpy. Instead, opt for pointed shoes to elongate your legs. For a winter look, match your boots to your leggings to make your legs appear longer. Create the perfect balance by adding a poncho on top that comes in contrast with the tight silhouette on the bottom. Extra tip: prefer them in nude tones or in the same color of your skin to create an illusion of longer legs.

5- Bottoms

For your everyday casual look, ensure that your denim jeans or pants are ankle length or slightly longer. A good pair of jeans can be your best friend and can be dressed up or down for many occasions, so make sure they are snug and look hot! When in doubt, reach for a pencil skirt as it gives your body good balance.

6- Monochromatic Looks

Dress in one color, except white. When you dress in two contrasting colors or different prints the eye is naturally drawn to the area where these colors come together, which is typically at your waistline.

7- Tops

Many plus size women wear crop tops and rock them. If you want to wear a crop top then do – a bit of skin showing can look super cute. Also, off the shoulder, puff-sleeved and sweetheart neckline tops are ideal for you, as they provide ample coverage to the bust area while accentuating cleavage and creating an overall flattering look.

8- Dresses

Wrap dresses are one of the most flattering pieces of a curvy body type. The line draws you towards the waist and cinches everything in a very flowy, elegant way. Also, you can opt for a maxi dress with a defined waist—pair with high boots or ankle booties and tights for winter.
Another alternative is a shift dress is a perfect piece to highlight your legs, only by adding a cute pair of sneakers for day and a denim jacket or a blazer and black sling-back pumps for a date-night.
