Tint-spiration | Radiant Orchid

Radiant Orchid 6

They announced Pantone’s 2014 Color of the Year a while back, but somehow the icy cold temps over the past few days have me thinking of spring and Radiant Orchid now — herb-infused cocktails, floral buds, and all the other colorful signs of spring. Who’s ready for outdoor happy hours, light layers, and long walks around the city?!

This color just somehow screams spring to me — the promise of flowers, the perfect pop of color. I’m particularly smitten with it for décor accents — a pillow, a decorative bowl, a throw blanket, there are plenty of ways to sneak it in!

  1. Purple is not really a color I play around with much in my wardrobe or my home, so I’m looking forward to incorporating a few pieces this year!

I’m the same! Purple’s also one of the Ravens colors so whenever I wear it I feel like I’m wearing team colors, so I shy away from it for regular attire haha.. I’m thinking it’ll make more of an appearance in my apartment than in my closet.

  2. Purple is also a Northwestern color. Love!

  3. Like to look at the color but a little afraid to wear it. I may have to reconsider purple especially because it is my birthstone.

I like the orchid hues better than a staple purple because they’re a little more subtle — perfect for a scarf or pair of earrings if you only want a touch of the hue!
